2011 Standing Committees, Chairs and Vice Chairs

GET INVOLVED – JOIN A COMMITTEE

 

1. Bylaws/Parliamentarian: Reviews bylaws and amend as needed. Submit amendments to national for approval. Develop and review periodically Standing Rules, which should be voted on each year. Chair Audrey Johnson  vice chair Valerie Morgan 

2. Communications: This committee will support the main communications vehicle (email), constant contact, face book for the general membership and other committees. Helps to maintain a database of current members and make corrections as they are received by members and produce a membership directory. This committee will also oversee the running of WCR local website master. Contact: Michael O'Connor, Webmaster  Face book and photos Ro Naomi

3. Education & Programs: The members of this committee assist the President-Elect in delivering eight programs throughout the year. Tasks include facilities selection, menu details, registration, meeting hospitality, etc Chair Mary Jane Mahon Vice Chair  Lisa Wasson

4. Finance & Budget: Plan and conduct fund raising programs as needed. Oversee and audit special events checkbook and operating checkbook. Work with special events treasurers to groom for future leadership. Chair: Mary Jo Derose Vice Chair; Jan Valente this committee works very closely with the VP of Affiliates and Sponsors

5. Membership Development: Work closely with VP of Membership assist with recruitment and retention of REALTOR(R) and affiliate members. Welcome new members and assist them with networking opportunities. Attend and assist at new member orientation. Chair: Sherri Forbes   Vice Chair:  Joseph Rinaudo

6. Affiliate & Sponsor Development and Relations Committee: Works closely with VP of Sponsor & Affiliates (Bill Fox 2011) with recruitment, retention and recapturing affiliate members. Work with event sponsors, to ensure sponsor value. Chair Beth Ambrosi,   Vice Chair Leslie Rothschild

7. Strategic Planning: Assist chapter with long range planning. Oversee day-to-day operations with a focus on long-term goal achievement. Define specific steps required to a successful achievement of chapter's long-term goals. Chair: Kim Russell and Vice chair Margret Roberts

8. Nominating Committee: The purpose of this committee is to line up officers for the coming year for the Board. Pres-Elect are an automatic move up. The job is to select members who have been involved in WCR and build a strong slate of officers. This committee usually begins about August, September. Chair Debbie Weidert,  Usually 4-5 committee members



 


Special Events Committees


Entrepreneur of the Year Event January 2011 Committee meets in 2010:
A high-powered, high-energy networking event designed to showcase the mission and vision of our organization New in 2007, this local chapter award recognizes a current national REALTOR® member of Women's Council for outstanding business results, mentoring of  women and involvement in the community.   The Rochester Chapter presents this award at its annual January Kick-Off Event.  The committee is responsible to procure nominations from the membership and interview eligible candidates for the Award, there are usually 5-7 nominations Chair: Paulette Petix Vice Chair Patti Pagani. Can be a committee of 15 or more. There is a prominent speaker from the local community. This committee ends and the new committee starts in 2011

Entrepreneur of the Year Event January 2012 committee meets in 2011:

Golf Scramble:
Annual Golf Tournament- This committee is responsible for putting together the annual golf tournament that supports our chapter's operation. The event, historically a sell-out, is held in early June. The committee begins meeting early in the year. A variety of tasks are available including event management, publicity, sponsor solicitation, registration, etc. Chair: Cindy Moriarty Vice Chair Cindy Blair this can be a committee of 20 or more. Usually a sellout. Great committee for a newer member 

Fall Fashion Show and Charity Basket Auction Committee:
Each year WCR hosts one charity event designed to give back to the community. For the past several years the charity has included breast cancer education as a majority of our members have been touched personally by this tragic disease. The committee starts its work mid-year for the October event. There are many opportunities available to model, assist with fashions, publicity, basket solicitation, decorating, etc. Chair  Patti Kesselring   Vice Chair:  Janine Pajek  Can be a committee of 25 or more. Usually a sellout. There are usually 3 local recipients receiving a donation determined by the board and committee help, based on need. Another great committee for newer members. 

Holiday Breakfast Held in December every year.
